FBR in the Australian Government’s National Robotics Strategy
FBR welcomes the release of the Australian Government ’s National Robotics Strategy, having participated in the consultation process (we even have a case study featured on pg. 40!).
Key points in the messages from Advisory Committee Chair, Professor Bronwyn Fox, and Hon. Ed Husic MP:
🤖 Australia boasts immense capabilities in robotics and automation, crucial to our future.
🔧 Robots can perform a variety of complex tasks, greatly benefiting the economy, while sparing humans from the dull, dirty and dangerous jobs.
🚫 Limited uptake of robotics and automation in Australia is holding us back.
📈 A mere 1% increase in robotics can boost the economy by 0.8%, through automating high-value manufacturing and enabling production at scale.
🚀 We need to seize the opportunity ahead of us.
The strategy lays out a solid foundation and is definitely worth reading. FBR looks forward to the strategy's execution and support, alongside other Federal Government initiatives like the $15bn National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRF) and the $10bn Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF), particularly amidst Australia's worsening housing crisis.
